The Fulbright Canada Entrepreneurship Initiative (FCEI) is an innovative new program that identifies and supports promising students, scholars and independent researchers who are interested in bringing their ideas to market.
Métis vocalist and cultural advocate Camryn Dewar has been awarded the Fulbright Canada-Honouring Nations Student Award. Through this award, Dewar will conduct groundbreaking research at Montclair State University, exploring Indigenous representation in Canadian opera and promoting cultural engagement. Her work will involve performances and a lecture-recital series that intertwines music and reconciliation.
An interview with Dr. Caroline Boudoux, a dedicated Fulbright Scholar in biomedical engineering. In June 2024, she published It Goes Without Saying: Taking the Guesswork Out of Your PhD in Engineering. The book compiles her knowledge, notes, and experiences from her PhD studies at MIT.
Twenty outstanding scholars will engage in collaborative, multi-disciplinary research over the next 18 months as part of the fourth iteration of the U.S. Department of State’s Fulbright Arctic Initiative, which seeks to advance Arctic nations’ shared interest in building a secure and sustainable Arctic region.

Despite all of the challenges, 2021 was an extremely positive year for Fulbright Canada.
September 30th is Orange Shirt Day, an Indigenous-led day to honour the victims of residential schools in Canada. It is also the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a new federal holiday and day of remembrance.
Fulbrighter Tony Penikett was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada “for his contributions as a teacher, negotiator and public servant, and for his human rights activism.”
Due to overwhelming interest and enthusiasm we have decided to extend the deadline for the Post-COVID challenge and expand the scope of the program.

The Fulbright Canada - U.S. Embassy in Ottawa Community Leadership Program provides grants, on a competitive basis, to Canadian alumni of U.S. government-sponsored exchange programs to complete community outreach projects in Canada.
The Fulbright Arctic Initiative brings together a network of applied researchers from the U.S. , Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia and Sweden for three seminar meetings and an exchange.
Visiting Research Chairs are targeted opportunities at select universities/institutions designed provide exceptional scholars and experienced professionals with exceptional research opportunities.
