Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Arctic Studies, Dartmouth College
The Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Arctic Studies at Dartmouth is open to Canadian scholars that meet the eligibility requirements of the Fulbright Program. Specifically, the Chair will be focused on issues pertaining to Arctic Studies and will carry out the program of research, teaching and service outlined in the successful application.
Dartmouth has a strong sense of place that encourages lasting bonds between people and the natural environment. Located in the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding, the Institute of Arctic Studies (IAS) is the home for the diversity of Arctic scholarship that centers Arctic knowledge and may inform Arctic policy and governance, from issues of climate change, sustainable development, and environmental protection to Arctic health, energy transitions, security, human rights, and the arts. The Institute is also a crossroads for interdisciplinary research and education at Dartmouth across current issues in Arctic and polar studies informing international policy and diplomacy. IAS highlights the importance of polar regions, global ecosystems, and Arctic communities in world affairs and sparks productive discussions across disciplines and sectors.
